ART HK 12, sponsored by Deutsche Bank, will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 17–20 May 2012. In just four years ART HK has emerged as the leading art fair in Asia, and is fast becoming a key fixture on the international art calendar. Recognized as the gateway between Asia and the West, with its position as the financial centre of Asia and 0% tax on the import and export of art, Hong Kong is an unparalleled location for a major destination art fair in the region. As the world continues to tip eastwards on its axis, ART HK provides a unique opportunity for galleries to expand into new markets, and showcases a quality and geographical diversity of art works not available anywhere else in the world.

Accompanied by an extensive Talks Program and a packed VIP Program of openings and events, ART HK is a much needed platform for networking and cultural exchange between curators, artists, collectors and gallerists from Asia and the West.

ART HK 12 is currently accepting applications to the Galleries Section as well as our two feature sections: ART FUTURES and ASIA ONE.

ART FUTURES is open to applications from all art galleries established in or after 2004. Applications will only be considered for single- or two-artist presentations of artists 35 years old or less at the time of application.

ASIA ONE is open to applications from all art galleries who have a permanent exhibition space in greater Asia (broadly defined as including Turkey to New Zealand and the Middle East to the Indian sub-continent). These galleries will present solo shows of artists of Asian origin (according to the above definition) at ART HK 12. The artist may currently be living and working any part of the world.

This year, ART HK’s galleries section will welcome 182 galleries from 30 different territories. Leading galleries returning from across Asia include Long March Space and The Pace Gallery from Beijing; Vitamin Creative Space from Guangzhou; Ben Brown Fine Arts and Hanart TZ Gallery from Hong Kong; Nature Morte / Bose Pacia from New Delhi; Kukje Gallery from Seoul; Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery from Sydney; Eslite Gallery from Taipei and SCAI THE BATHHOUSE from Tokyo. New additions include de Sarthe Gallery from Hong Kong, Gallery Koyanangi from Japan and three galleries from Mumbai:  Chemould Prescott Road, Galerie Mirchandani + Steinruecke and Volte.

In addition, the Fair will host some of the most prestigious galleries from the West, with the return of galleries from across Europe and the USA including the following galleries from London: Sadie Coles HQ, Hauser & Wirth , Simon Lee Gallery, Lisson Gallery and White Cube. Other notable galleries include Acquavella Galleries Inc., Cheim & Read, Gagosian Gallery, Gladstone Gallery, Marian Goodman Gallery , L&M Arts, Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin and David Zwirner.
