The first comprehensive exhibition in Japan devoted to French artist Monique FRYDMAN. Working on canvas using such materials as pigments, pastels, and ropes, Frydman engages her materials in a physical dialogue. Through that process, she creates works that obtain mastery of light and color - the essence of a painting. In recent years, she has also undertaken site-specific works using Plexiglas and paper. In addition to past works, the exhibition will feature new installations giving maximum play to the architectural spaces of this museum, thereby showing the new expressive territory Frydman has attained.
