ProfilGlasgow Museums offer something for everyone, whether you want to find out more about an artist, come with your class to see how we used to live, see the latest in contemporary art, or simply meet a friend for coffee, Glasgow has a museum for you! All our museums are free, most have café facilities, and we warmly welcome children. You can find out more about our service by following the links on the right hand side of this page. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum has now reopened after its three-year restoration programme, and is breaking all visitor records. Keep in touch with the latest Kelvingrove news. Children and families just love our popular Museum of Transport and People's Palace - a museum celebrating the people who have made the city what it is today. For a more relaxing time, why not visit the Winter Gardens, St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art or Provand's Lordship, Glasgow's oldest house which dates back to medieval times? If you have a taste for Charles Rennie Mackintosh, visit Martyrs' School and Scotland Street School Museum and see how his work as an architect and artist developed. If you want to escape from the city centre, visit The Burrell Collection and Pollok House, both set in the peaceful surroundings of Pollok Country Park. Our collections are available to everyone, and our newest museum, the Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, is both a storage facility and a visitor centre, offering free tours round 200,000 objects not previously on display.
