When supporting photography the Foundation has the entire world as its target. Best known is the annual Hasselblad Award in Photography made for the first time in 1980 and which has found recipients in several European countries, Africa, Asia, North- and Latin America. In the Foundation's exhibition hall Hasselblad Center the Foundation presents exhibitions of both internationally renown photographers, for example the Hasselblad Award Winners as well as young promising Nordic photographers. Another area of priority for the Foundation is research within the field of photography, both its own research and support to other research projects. Furthermore the Foundation offers various stipends such as stipends for studies abroad.
