Profil
Studio la Città opened in Verona in 1969 and began by presenting shows by such artists as Lucio Fontana, Piero Dorazio, Mario Schifano, and Gianni Colombo.
Over the years it has presented important artists from Italy and abroad, among whom are Piero Manzoni, Sol LeWitt, Robert Mangold, and John McCracken.
The subtle yet precise line linking the choices made by the gallery over the past forty years, and which distinguishes the gallery on the current art scene, is the search for a silent and intimate expressive form that reaches to the heart of things, one quite beyond individual choices of language or media.
Among the artists followed by the gallery, mention should be made of Giulio Paolini , Gabriele Basilico , Ettore Spalletti , Pierpaolo Calzolari, Vincenzo Castella , Herbert Hamak , Jacob Hashimoto , Hiroyuki Masuyama , and Stuart Arends , and our roster of younger artists, which includes Victor Alimpiev, Arthur Duff , and David Lindberg .
For some time Studio la Città has concerned itself with the new languages of Indian art; this found its most complete expression in a show titled India Crossing, in which Riyas Komu , Hema Upadhyay , Nataraj Sharma , Shilpa Gupta, and Valsan Koorma Kolleri participated.
The gallery's future program includes the colorful installations of the American artist Nick Cave and the young Indian Balaji Ponna .
