Abattoirs offer a wide spectrum of activities. As part of its cultural public service missions, it performs multiple functions in connection with the dissemination and understanding of modern and contemporary forms of artistic expression.

Service museum aims to preserve the works of the collection and animate. The enrichment of the collection remains a priority. His farm is the perfect medium for cultural and educational action. Temporary exhibitions, historical, thematic or monographic, are the preferred tool of discovery, innovation and research. This release is designed to scale to the regional area in collaboration with the municipal or county museums, art centers or places of contemporary art alive.

The feature documentary is one of the key points of the structure: all funds will eventually computer connected to the poles of the regional network. The Media Centre aims to be a place for research, awareness and dissemination for a variety of audiences.

The library with its reading rooms (children and adults), provides access to documents in Open Access: academic literature, history of art, aesthetics, records of art works, archives video and audio, CD-Rom. A party is particularly interested in contemporary art catalogs, monographs, artists' books, art journals and versatile editing service. It is provided as a multimedia center devoted to new technologies.

The educational and cultural or "public service" and multiplies personalized approaches for very different audiences (individuals, groups, youth groups, schools, families, disabled). It offers tours of exhibitions, lectures, debates, meetings with designers and managers of cultural sector, multidisciplinary art workshops, training courses and visits to entertainment touch the blind.

Support for the creation is one of the major requirements of the Stockyards. It is available through the host of artists at exhibitions, opening shops near or in the regions and public commissions. It is enriched by the participation of artists in the debate and policy leadership and provides them with useful means documentary or prior to creation.

Diffusion collections in Midi-Pyrenees through exhibitions, co-productions, galleries of schools remains an essential mission of the Department of FRAC (Regional Fund for Contemporary Art) of the Stockyards.
