For this exhibition, the artist has in a sense turned her work process “inside out”. The packing boxes were created first and the objects and sculptures must then capture their place inside them. In doing this, the boxes do not function as just a container and the objects and sculptures are not just the filling for them. Instead, pieces were created that became one unit shifting between sculpture, objects, and drawings with poetry and ease. The surrealism, the severity of minimal art, and the consideration of emptiness and space all found plenty of room in the plywood boxes. ( Galerie Bernd Kugler) |
