| In collages, drawings, installations and videos connects David Maljkovic substantive references to the turnaround story of his home country of Croatia with an autonomous interpretation, from the perspective of the present observed. The starting point of his works are symbolic monuments of the 1960s and 70s, Croatia and the former Yugoslavia, which in its heyday as icons for Awakening, Utopia or amend standing. This time signal, now neglected or "ruinous" seem to forget, in the video works by the artist with the presence of his generation, which is characterized by the transformation of a communist in a capitalist society confronts. In drawings and collages, David Maljkovic develops first, the emergence of film drama, but beyond this he peels more symbolic aspects of history and memory. For the exhibition in Nuremberg, he has some thirty collages, containing material from journals of the time of the pavilion and come through cuts and a re-composition dynamics producing poetic.
