| In her recent work focuses on the Vienna and Los Angeles based artist Dorit Margreiter the disappearance of modern architecture from the public consciousness and its former utopian promise. Last year they showed in the Leipzig Gallery of Contemporary Art with her work "center" of the reconstruction of a fluorescent lettering, including the building of the Leipzig, to which it was, then stood before the demolition. A well in 16-mm format filmed documented this unique cultural restoration irreversible action. Margreiter thus reminded parable also liable to the current deal with everyday culture and their information sources that are part of a collective identity, and which again and again (and now) are disappearing. Current leads Dorit Margreiter this debate now in a three-setting under the title "Original Condition" section. In the center of this work is a group of framed U.S. newspaper advertisements in which the modern houses of famous architects - including by Richard Neutra, Rudolph Schindler, John Lautner - in "original condition restored" are offered for sale. From the initial experiment for renewal of utopian society, the architecture of modernity in their most advanced positions was, here is little left.
