Edgar Arceneaux, born 1972 in Los Angeles, produced his works in unusual contexts and references generated by these new perspectives and knowledge combinations. Here he uses primarily to painting and film, which he arranged in installations. His early work, "Drawings of Removal" (1999) presently his art directly into the gallery. He moved his studio into the sales rooms and contributes his drawings directly on the walls, removing them, improves and overpainted. This sets out work in progress already in this early phase of his work two spheres together and pushing for new approaches. With "Borrowed Sun" (2004) presents Arceneaux famous figures of the cultural history in relationship. For Galileo Galilei, the artist Sol LeWitt and the jazz musician Sun Rae, he identifies the sun as a commonality, a surprising connection to do. In "The Alchemy of Comedy ... Stupid" (2006) filmed and he cut the show by the actor David Alan Grier in nine different techniques. The work is the relationship between artist and audience, laughter and pathos and comedy and comedian apparent. For Edgar Arceneaux is therefore never the existing endpoint of knowledge, but always the beginning of something new. Arceneaux lives and works in Los Angeles. © ArtLogistics
