From 1967 to 1970 she studied at the glass school in Hadamar. Then she moved to Berlin and studied from 1972 to 1979 at the College of the Arts painting with Hann Trier; simultaneously with Rainer Fetting, Helmut Middendorf and Salomé, who studied at Hödicke. During her studies she worked at the Berlin theater as property mistress, prompter and foyer lady. Elvira Bach led a scholarship for a year in the Dominican Republic. In 1982 she was invited to Documenta 7 in Kassel. In the circle of the young savages it is the only woman who managed the breakthrough. Their neo-expressionist portraits of women reflect the themes of their own lives. The similarity of the images with their own personalities are unmistakable. To date she has remained true to their vigorous style of painting. Her works have been exhibited in many lounges and medium-sized enterprises. Elvira Bach, lives and works in Berlin.
