A track evaporating water in Mexico City. A man pushes a block of ice through the city. The ice blocks are reminiscent of traveling merchants, in a hot summer calling drinks sale. The block is getting smaller, the man walks unperturbed, until nothing of the ice remains as a water stain on the street. This man is Francis Alÿs. The Belgian artist always takes extraordinary walks "paseos", which he documented in films. Mexico City is the architect on his arrival to the artist to treasure. As the founder of the Situationist International "erwandert Alÿs the city and draws attention to the poetry of everyday life, not to architecture but to the life of the architecture. The works Alÿs' are so fleeting as a block of ice. Similarly, transient impact the fragile drawings of the artist. On a crackling Transparent paper, the contour lines appear a girl. The paper looks like patched with adhesive tape. In the arm she holds a skeleton - or keep them in the death of the arm? The figures and shapes of delicate drawings appear as ghost stories or the observant walker behind the next street corner waiting.
