(Profile only availible in german - translated by machine) Walther created in the years 1963-1969 a "1 Work set ": An ensemble of textile objects that invite the viewer to specific conflict. A "2 Factory set "consists of walk-metal objects. These and other works are the starting points for Walther, the processes of sensory perception and physical experience. This happens in so-called acts of work and work demonstrations. In connection with this work shall be attributed to Walther, the process of art, in addition to Happening and Fluxus, is often understood as a counter to minimalism. In the artist intended processes and materials with given by him to the viewer to be activated for the discussion of the artistic range and for a new experience. Walter turned it against an outdated understanding of art, presents the "finished" works permanently in museums. In the center of his work is up to the present (2005) the handling of textile materials. Walther demonstrated in the 1960s before audiences interested in art process-oriented "experience" scale with material basis of his work records are created in the late 1970's installations, which have their own distinctive aesthetic character, although that should change but also the relationship of the viewer to the artwork. An example is the case of it installed in the center of Hamburg square steel plates, the "Seven points for Hamburg" (1989. They are embedded in different locations in concrete. At the edges of the plates, seven different terms have been engraved. Viewer opens up this work only after a long tour. The terms "ORT, DIRECTION, BODY, INTERIOR EXTERIOR, MOTION, SPACE and TIME" invite for individual reflection, so that the viewers are with their thought process and behavior involved in the work of art. In 2003, staged Walther on the occasion of his exhibition "The body shape" at the Kunstmuseum Bonn a "Werkhandllung. He introduced acts that were shown on drawings exhibited, and visitors were asked to touch his large-scale material objects, they are slip-over and looking at them involved. © Wikipedia . org |
