| Heidi Leitner was born in Brixen/ South Tyrol (Italy) in 1968. She was trained as wood sculptor at the famous traditional the South Tyrol´ s Sculptor Studios which she finished with a special award. Leitner has worked intensively ever since she started her career and her prolific work gives evidence that she succeeded in having refined and advanced classical forms of sacral and profane subjects with her own individual style as sculptor. Thus the viewers find a lot of traditional elements alongside modern aspects which enhance the high quality performance of her sculptures. Interesting and very unusual also is the way she combines wood, colours and other materials such as gold foil in one art work. This gives them the look of being a unique precious piece that relates the past with the present methods of expression.
