| Jeppe Hein is interested in the interplay of architecture, communication and social behavior in public space. In 2006 began his series of MODIFIED SOCIAL BENCHES takes the artist to design a simple park benches back. In different ways, he changed the prototype of the public seating area towards an object that is no longer the desire for rest, passivity, or even served alone, but rather the act of sitting to become a physically and socially conscious business experience makes. Thus, the four specially developed for Bonn benches on the forecourt of the Kunstverein rather an exchange between users and passers-promote, but without offering to relax completely auszuschlagen. Between the current (incorrect) use of the forecourt as a car park and new outdoor seating by the coffee in the Einstein Bonner Kunstverein placed four benches of the Artist as a dispositif between dysfunctional interactive objects and furniture.
