A man, a shaman, a "charlatan '- particularly the last name was choosen from the german magazine Spiegel, who once even dedicated a cover story to the Düsseldorf concept artist. In fact, Joseph Beuys, born 1921 in Kleve 1986 and succumbed to a serious illness, a person of great charisma and immense persuasiveness and an artist whose importance for future generations is being rediscovered by many young artists again. As one of the fathers of the Fluxus movement, he defined the concept of art radically new, "Every man is an artist." He may also be referred without doubt as one or even the pioneer of the concept, Perdormance and video art. He can not, however be specified by his oeuvre. His installations, that can be seen in the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin or in the Hessian State Museum in Darmstadt, include, in bewitching intensity the life and work of Joseph Beuys, reflecting it on a surprisingly modern way in every phase and every detail. © ArtLogistics
