| Keren Kytter tells short stories in which everyday and Private mysterious happenings with a sometimes madcap connection arrives. Their experimental approach integrates influences from film noir about the fictional documentary to pure Cinema Verité. In their often fragmentary films appearing Cytter documented her family and friends, their private surroundings, acting in surrealistic dream worlds. Part grotesque, sometimes tragically, the acts in which their players with their emotional and often amateurish acting game are involved. In Cytter films deconstructs traditional narrative structures and re-assembled. Images and voice or tone sequences are asynchronous, subtitles and text panels are added, the addition of spoken word double. In "Atmosphere" (2005) is her roommate Julia in the ever recurring thoughts of an absent friend caught, the time is linear in the loop on hermetic thought space. In Dream Talk (2005), the actions of Cytter friends to absurdity in parallel with the actions in a running simultaneously on television film.
