Motoko Dobashi - Profile

(Profile only availible in german - translated by machine) Born and raised in Japan, Motoko Dobashi lived for six years in Germany. The influence of the two cultures found in their work place more than harmonious fusion of tradition and now, because as a contrast. The artist is primarily concerned with landscapes as self-expression that makes them in the form of painting and collage created on the wall. Here, the natural landscape painted in the classic sense of romantic longing is interpreted. Thus the individual elements together and share from different sources. It is not mandatory in the sense in real terms by an existing nature, but rather the images of fantasy worlds in which they move themselves. The presentation will take place exclusively in two dimensions, and yet, through the thematic depth and perspective view seems to be drawn into the wall. To emphasize the fiction of their landscapes while back to handle a reference to the urban nature of the fairytale, it uses a popular street art technology. For this they used emblems that are applied as black and white copies on the wall painting. The color spectrum from which it draws, is focused on black and blue with white. The psychological impact of the black and white film in the sense of memory and the past is relevant here, the images appear to move as stills only by the choreographic momentum. Anna Friedel, 2006
