In the following year, he sought the authenticity of the people in the countryside and worked together with Heckel and Kirchner in the Baltic Sea and at the Moritzburg lakes near Dresden. He took the two outstanding "bridge" exhibitions of this period: in 1910 at the Dresden Gallery in Arnold, 1912 in the Berlin art dealer Fritz Gurlitt. Even after the dissolution of the artist group "bridge" used Mueller contact and friendship with the former group members: with Kirchner he spent the summer of 1913 on the Baltic island of Fehmarn, and Heckel he visited until late in the 20's to work together. After the First World War, which he witnessed as a soldier in France and later in Russia, he was appointed in 1919 as a professor at the Art Academy in Breslau, where he taught until his death in 1930.
