| By "Thomas Ruff. Surfaces, depth is one of the most important photographers of his generation, the first extensive exhibition in Austria dedicated. Ruff (* 1958, lives in Düsseldorf, Germany) studied from 1977 to 1985 is technically sound profession of photography at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, and went next to Andreas Gursky, Candida Höfer, Axel Hütte, Thomas Struth as an internationally acclaimed Becher student shows.
In his work, it opens a view of the different areas of our everyday life, the human, architecture and the cosmos, the Internet. The photographer is a keen observer and concentrated his motives. Objectivity is, for him, but not a neutral term, but with each new recording of interviews. The series of portraits, for instance, that Ruff has created since 1986, impressed by the persistent emotionless, with the most close to him are models out. This approach has helped him become a hyperpräzisen, surgical view of every detail is reproduced equivalent.
