| Valie Export, born 1940 in Linz, is one of the most provocative artists of Austria and became known in the late 60s through her aggressive feminist actions. She is assigned to the Vienna Actionists and worked mostly with performances, film and video. Export uses her body very strategically in her actions to put it and herself for disposition. She performes without regards of herself. This artistic audacity shocked the public, particularly the press, which arose Exports work to a scandal. This was for example the case with "From the portfolio Underdog File" (1968) , as she led her fellow artists Peter Weibel on a dog leash through the Vienna Kärntner Straße and pointed out the analogy between the man-woman and human-animal relationship. Her most famous work is the "Tap and Touch Cinema" (1968). Exports upper body is in a cardboard box, the front has a small curtain and she asks men, women and children to grap her. She was naked in the box. This aggressive confrontation was a clear stand against the objectification of the female body and in general the role of women in society.
