| Walter Dahn was 1979-1982 member of the neo-expressionist artist community in Cologne Mülheimer Freiheit and is counted with many of his works as one of the "Jungen Wilden" ," who provided a vehement renaissance of figurative painting in the eighties of the last century . In 1984 Walter Dahn participated in the groundbreaking exhibition "Von hier aus - Zwei Monate neue deutsche Kunst in Düsseldorf". Dahn has created an extensive number of art works whose roots range from Dada to concept art, from Expressionism through to punk and Beys'schen enlarged definition of art. In many of his objects, paintings, drawings, photographs and videos, Dahn plays with the awareness of intercultural implications. Therefore objects, like exotic animals, objects of ethnological collections and historical visual quotations reappear in his work again and again. 2003/2004 his works were shown at "Obsessive Malerei - Ein Rückblick auf die Neuen Wilden" in Karlsruhe. In addition to his work in contemporaray art in various projects he also emerged as a musician. The German painter and photographer Walter Dahn was born in 1954 in St. Tonis at Krefeld.
