| Nature is the starting point for Wolfgang Laib's artistic creations. it originates not only all substances, which he uses, he lives and works also in their annual run.Mold materials are selected pollen, milk, beeswax, marble, rice and sealing wax. Each choice has its source material a work family, and it is still steadily unfolded: 1975 is the first milk stones, 1977 Wolfgang Laib collects the first pollen, 1983, he worked first with 1987, with rice and beeswax. He combines them lasting as the marble and ephemeral as rice and pollen. Most mold installations exist only for a limited time, because they are fragile or, as in the case of ausgestreuten pollen, almost fleeting and almost intangible. Even milk lined the stone as such has no duration. Wolfgang Laib recalls how important it is for his work, "... that their form is only temporary, that the pollen after a re-issue comes in a glass, the milk in the milk poured out daily stone is the stone in its symbiosis than milk stone, only a few hours there. The form exists only for a few hours, several days or weeks, as long as the exhibition takes. And yet it is all still there, what is important. The question is what form, gets a very different value.
