Animals are a central theme in Boban Andjelkovic s work. Only their outline suggest that there could be animal-like beings. There are no real images of nature, but they stand as a metaphor for painting. Their fur usually consists of an abstract surface. Lines and color fields. It seems as if the painting would spin a body.
In his scale Andjelkovics uses earthy to bright colors. He wants to create the impression that the beings remain static, stand up and brave all resistance. They are embedded in a neutral background, floral characters building the bridge to the room.
In the reception of works by Boban Andjelkovic , it is essential to keep open for individual interpretation. One could say that he wants to link the painting with the viewer - as a "permanent reflection."
The Munich artist Max Srba , born 1978, focuses continuously since graduating from the academy with the question of the fictitious reversal of biological processes and the possible consequences of human interference with nature. These visions assume the forms of apocalyptic and often provoke the same time its deceptive prettiness, are translated in large drawings and small-scale sculptures. Not only the visual elements are made of contrasts, but also the technical procedures. While traditional materials like bronze, pencil pencil drawing, oil paint and porcelain, dominant in the work experience of Srba, is in the development process and in part in the finished version usually a deal with 3-D plotter (printer), and computer printing, Folienplotten, spray paint etc.. This struggle between classical and modern finds its expression in the fictional worlds of the artist, with each new work, a bit more tangible. The paintings and drawings play a narrative role, or are they environment, while the sculptures (figures are carved out directly from the images) represent the characters or the main players in these subjects. The story seems to describe a type of war of the worlds, but never lost the hope of a triumph of nature. The surfaces of the work while striving for perfection and smoothness, with the technology and anatomy known forms, and the inaccessibility to the utopia that is suggested in this space quite obvious.
