
Unfinished Journeys is built around one of the National Museums most recent acquisitions, the impressive nine-channel video installation "Ten Thousand Waves" by British artist Isaac Julien .
The work poetically interweaves a range of stories that link Chinas past and present. The group exhibition features works that address the theme of never-ending journeys from a variety of angles. The works are about travel in the figurative sense the ongoing quest for ones own identity and place in the world but also tackle the issue of migration. Artists represented in the exhibition include, among others, Knut Åsdam, Rosa Barba , Kristina Bræin, Tacita Dean , Marine Hugonnier , Isaac Julien , and Runo Lagomarsino .
