Bernd Slutzky founded the gallery in Frankfurt in 1972, parallel to a graphic edition, the "graphics-Verlag. Nowadays a focal point of the gallery's work is the presentation of, and research into print graphics from the 1960s and 1970s. This revolves around artists who were represented in René Block 's legendary exhibition in 1964 in Berlin , "The graph of Capitalist Realism" (The Graphics of Capitalist Realism), examined as KP Brehmer, Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Konrad Wolf and Lueg Vostell.
Thomas Bayrle 's work, including print graphics and multiples from the 1960s to 1980s, represents another focus. Bayrle, born in 1937 in Berlin and in-between Richter and Polke in age, developed his own formal language based on graphic principles. In terms of theme there are many points in common with the "graphics of capitalist realism."

Galerie Bernd Slutzky arranged the transfer of an extensive collection, including portraits of Georg Baselitz, Joseph Beuys, Palermo (Peter Heisterkamp), Sigmar Polke, Arnulf Rainer, Gerhard Richter, Günther Uecker, Andy Warhol and others, to the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt (MMK) and it is now important to part of the Museum's collection.
As artists of the younger generation, John Hüppi, Karin and Tobias Rehberger Kneffel continue the gallery's critical reception program with graphics and multiples.
The "New Figuration" (New Figuration) artists represent yet another position. An impressive number of works of outstanding quality by Walter Stohrer, Horst Antes, Heinz Schanz, John Grützke, Franz Ringel and Anna Bella Geiger are on display. Figurative artists of the younger generation included in the gallery's program are Heiko Herrmann, Michael Mohr and Erdogan Bulut.

Bernd Slutzky opened his gallery in 1972 with the exhibition “Prints of American Pop Art”. It included spectacular works by artists such as Warhol, Lichtenstein, Indiana and Rauschenberg.
