Profile
Making Deutsche Bank Collection more accessible to the interested public is a goal that we have firmly pursued for more than 30 years. The international reach of the Deutsche Bank Collection is unprecedented.
In 2009, about 90 percent of all exhibits in the collection were on view in 911 Bank buildings, in exhibitions, or on loan in 28 museums, galleries, or cultural institutions in all corners of the globe.
In this way, we give millions of people access to significant works of contemporary art. In 1979, we took a key first step in making our collection more accessible with "Art at the Workplace." Since then, rotating exhibits from the collection have been on display in many offices and conference rooms, and not just in executive suites. Clients and visitors can admire works in our Bank buildings.
In our headquarters in Frankfurt, we will also install an "Art Café," which will be opened to the public at the end of 2010.
Our collection concentrates on the medium of paper, on the first idea, the draft, the concept - on those elements that represent the creative, artistic process in a direct and immediate way.
Our main focus is to promote young artists who with their creative work give society orientation, shake things up, or redefine. We aim to internationalize the collection even further and to incorporate the developing countries to a greater extent.
