Profile
The gallery Brockstedt has been founded 1958 in Hannover and moved to Hamburg in 1959. In 1992 the second gallery was opened in Berlin .
Its reputation was formed through the work with the artists of the german expressionists, the post-war rediscovery of the artist of the "Neue Sachlichkeit" like Otto Dix , Franz Radziwill, Christian Schad etc., the intensive work with the artists of the "Cologne Progressive Art" like Gerd Arntz, Otto Freundlich , Heinrich Hoerle and Franz Wilhelm Seiwert and last but not least a lifelong friendship and work-combination with the Hamburg artist Horst Janssen .
Next to the work with modern masters the gallery always acompanied the contemporary realists like Johannes Grützke , Antonio Lopez, Francesco Lopez, Isabel Quintanilla, Maria Mureno, Annette Schröter , Reinhard Stangl as well as the artists of the german "Informel" (Willi Baumeister, Ernst Wilhelm Nay und Emil Schumacher ) and a number of non-figurative painters (Mark Safan, Jupp Linssen ,Gust Romijn) and others.
