Hubert Winter opened the gallery in the Seilergasse 19, Vienna 1010, on the 28th of February. Besides an antiquiarian bookshop specialist on art books with the main focus on Surrealism he exhibited Heinz Frank , Francis Picabia , Panamarenko , drawings and photography by the Surrealists, Henri Michaux and Josef Sima .
1981 the gallery moved to new premises (Sonnenfelsgasse 8/ Bäckerstrasse 7) and started to have exhibitions regular.

Between 1983 and 1985 the gallery run a branch in Düsseldorf and in Berlin from 1997 - 1999.
In 1998 the gallery moved to the Breite Gasse 17 in 1070 Vienna, where you still can find it.
