The Kunstmuseum Bayreuth, home to the Dr. Helmut and Constanze Meyer Art Foundation, Prof. Dr. Klaus Dettmann Art Foundation, archive and collection of Caspar Walter Rauh, the collection Georg Tappert and presented in the former Oberbügermeisterräumen with their lavish Renaissance ceiling tobacco Historical Collection of the British American Tobacco.

The focus of the collections in the Art Museum is the art of the twentieth century. They are represented mainly works on paper of different artistic styles, from expressionism and constructivism to surrealism, from the new objectivity to the neo-realism of the period after 1945, the European abstract expressionism to abstraction and concretion of the concept art of Fluxus and Happening.

In changing exhibits different topics will be presented to the collections. To all exhibitions and themes offers the museum education at the Kunstmuseum Bayreuth an extensive education program.
