Profile

(Profile only availible in german - translated by machine)

Since 1909, the first Mülheimer Museum opened its doors, several buildings were used as accommodation in the city. In 1994 the museum moved into the building of the former main post office, which was in several phases for use as an art museum renovated and expanded. As early as 1985, the former banking hall to Bürgerbegeg-a meeting place was changed to take place at regular intervals in the numerous, always well-attended events.

The house is centrally located in one of the largest squares in the city of Mülheim. The damage in the 1970 fountain by the artist Otto Herbert Hajek, together with its location directly in front of the museum an interesting contrast to the old facade of the house.

The museum offers visitors three floors with a total of 1,200 square meters of exhibition space units with different temperaments.
