ProfileThe Mönchehaus Museum in Goslar is dedicated to changing exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. Founded in 1978, among other things with the intention to offer the international winners of the Goslar Kaiser Ring a worthy exhibition forum. The prestigious art prize awarded by the city of Goslar in 1975 once a year to an outstanding contemporary artists. Past recipients included Joseph Beuys , Max Ernst , Victor Vasarely , Rebecca Horn , Christo and Jeanne-Claude , Georg Baselitz , Matthew Barney , Bridget Riley and David Lynch . 2011 replaced the British Op Art artist Rosemarie Trockel the coveted award.
