The Münchner Stadtmuseum presents the city and the cultural history of Munich in various exhibitions - in addition to the permanent exhibition "Typically Munich!"- the collections of photography, music, puppet show / showmanship, prints and paintings, furniture and handicrafts, but also the collections of folklore and fashion / textiles. Among the crowd favorites include the world famous Morris Dancers by Erasmus Grasser in the 15th Century. The permanent exhibition "ciphers of Memory" deals with the development of National Socialism in Munich and the photography collection is one of the leading photographic collections in Germany. The film museum guards e.g. the largest collection of German silent movies and shows every day except Monday demonstrations.
