Profile

The Museum of Modern Art (MMKK) is a city of Klagenfurt in the nearby museum, located in the premises of the so-called Klagenfurt's Castle [1]. It is shown in an exhibition area of 1,000 square meters of modern and contemporary art.

In single-theme exhibitions and presents the MMKK regional, national and international artistic positions. The frescoed Baroque painter Josef Ferdinand of Carinthia Fromiller castle chapel artists as a project and installation space.

One focus is on its own collections of Carinthia. Among them are works by renowned artists of the 20th and 21 Century, such as Hans Bischoffshausen , Kiki Kogelnik, Maria Lassnig , Hermann Nitsch, Arnulf Rainer , Hans Staudacher , as well as representatives of the younger generation Heimo Zobernig and Hans Schabus.
