The museum Morsbroich is the first museum in North Rhine-Westphalia, which is committed after the Second World War in contemporary art. Major exhibitions of international artists like Yves Klein , Lucio Fontana , Louise Nevelson , Andy Warhol , Robert Motherwell and Others were shown. In parallel with its busy exhibitions, the museum strives to expand its collection through purchases of exemplary works of contemporary art and contributed in the course of 50 years together an impressive collection of around 400 paintings and sculptures and 5,000 graphic work.
