Profile

(Profile only availible in german - translated by machine)

The Museum gegenstandsfreier Kunst, Landkreis Cuxhaven is since 1976 in public ownership. Since its inception, this art since 1945 - initially focusing on concrete / constructive work and the informal - collected and exhibited. 1999, an extension of the collective activity, it was decided that the museum opened to all object-free directions of modern art. The house shows not only works in the collection of high quality four annual exhibitions.

Since 1991, the Museum of the doctoral art historian Ulrike opens Schick. Four annual exhibitions are curated, accompanied mainly by a catalog. The international loans of the temporary exhibitions are complemented by selected parts of the collection and presented on the two floors of the house.
The district of Cuxhaven purchased as a carrier of the museum pieces from the current exchange exhibitions that contribute to the quality content and complete the collection. The association of friends and patrons of the Studio A eV, Goettingen Savings Bank Foundation, the Hanover Insurance Group VGH and individuals contribute to permanent loans for further collection development.
