Profile

(Profile only availible in german - translated by machine)

Worldwide unique is the balanced presentation of art and design in a museum. Two collections of free and applied art are brought together in the New Museum:
The core of the collection forms the international art since 1967, compiled collection of contemporary art of the city of Nuremberg, now augmented by several private foundations and loans as well as extensive new acquisitions from government funds.

The Design Collection is a collaboration with the Neue Sammlung - State Museum for Applied Art & Design in the Pinakothek der Moderne . The presentation of the collection includes selected examples of international design from 1945 to today from its holdings. We welcome this collaboration with Prof. Dr. Florian Hufnagel, director of the new collection, and his team!
