Profile
SAGE Paris is proud to have followed the steps of Ann and Jürgen Wild e of Galerie Wild e of Cologne which in the Sixties had been the first Gallery in Europe to show photographies and especially the ones of the forgotten Masters of German photography such as Karl Blossfeldt , Albert Renger- Patzsch, August Sander and helped also to rediscover Germaine Krull , Florence Henri and Piet Zwart or to discover Duane Michals and Les Krims.
Our special taste for Masterworks of photography of the XIX and XX centuries has led us to show vintage prints of Karl Blossfeldt and to put up Museum quality shows such as
« April in Paris » with vintage prints of Eugène Atget, André Kertész, Germaine Krull , George Hoyningen-Huene, Florence Henri , Werner Rohde, Edward Steichen , Maurice Tabard and Else Thalemann, or "No opening, no reception, all about looking" with vintage prints of Anna Atkins, Charles Aubry, August Kotzsch, André Kertész,
Marcel Broodthaers, Man Ray , Duane Michals, Helmut Newton , William Eggleston, and an overwhelming 1846 print of the "Bridge of Sighs" by W.H.F. Talbot, or "Exquisite Shadows" with two extraordinary vintage prints by Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and a magnificent vintage print " Chaises au Jardin des Tuileries" by André Kertész.
SAGE Paris intends also to show Contemporary photography and especially the ones from Japan, China and Iran. This has led us to build up shows and close working relationships with Daido Moriyama , Miyako Ishiuchi , Tomoko Yoneda , Zhuang Hui and Abbas Kiarostami , the works of whom are present in all of the major Art museums.
