Outside the entrance to the Art GallerySouthampton City Art Gallery can offer something for everyone, whether you're young or old, a lifelong fan or going to a gallery for the first time.

The gallery is internationally renowned for its impressive art collection, spanning six centuries of European art history. Thousands of visitors explore the exhibitions and displays every month and, through a programme of educational activities, we aim to provide opportunities for greater access, involvement and understanding of art, for people of all ages.

There is always something to do for families at the gallery. Children and adults can explore exhibitions together through gallery trails, and during the holiday's we have a fantastic range of activities for all ages, for more details see 'Events' in the 'Quick Links' below.

We also offer a flexible service to schools and groups focusing on learning about the exhibitions and collections. There is also the provision for educational workshops in all our venues or held at your venue. All educational visits must be pre-booked, even if you visit as a self-guided group.
