Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus

Profile

Plans to renovate and redesign the Lenbachhaus have been in development since 2003. Following a Europe-wide selection process, Foster + Partners was awarded the commission to work out a strategy for restoration and a new design to match the museum's changing requirements. Munich city council approved the plans by Foster + Partners in spring 2008 and allocated € 56.2m for the project. Construction work will start in spring 2009.
