Stavanger Art Museum, formerly the Rogaland Art Museum, located in Mosvannspark, Stavanger. After consolidation with Stavanger Museum, 1 July 2010 was the name of the joint organization MUST Museum Stavanger, Rogaland Art Museum changed its name to Stavanger Museum of Art. Temporary exhibitions in addition to works from the permanent collection, Collection Halfdan Hafsten and Jan Groth collection. The collections consist of more than 2000 works of art from the 1800s until today. Exhibition program includes a variety of Norwegian and international art. A center of gravity in the permanent collection is the unique collection of Lars Hertervig (1830-1902) works, which consists of more than 70 works of art. In addition, there including paintings by Edvard Munch , Christian Krogh, Eilif Peterssen and Harriet Backer. Kitty Kielland is well represented, along with artists such as Knut rogaland Baade, Carl Sundt-Hansen PG Olaf Lange. Central contemporary artists in the collection, Antony Gormley , Jan Groth , Mari Slaattelid , Torbjørn Rødland , Jone Kvie and Mette Tronvoll .
Collection Halfdan Hafsten ineholder works and archival material of the artists Aulie Reid, Harald Dal, Arne Ekeland, Erling Enger, Kai Fjell, Ragnar Kraugerud, Thorbjørn Lie-Jørgensen and Alexander Schultz . These represent the inter-war generation of Norwegian art history. In 1998, also Jan Groth 's collection and archives established at the Stavanger Museum. In the collection are works by several well-known American artists, as well as several Norwegian that has attracted international attention in recent years. Among these is Robert Morris , Bruce Nauman , and Tony Smith .
