Galerie Wilma Tolksdorf, founded in 1986 in Hamburg, is located in Frankfurt am Main since 1998. In the industrial loft-like premises at Hanauer Landstraße (eastern Frankfurt), there're mostly presented young artistic positions with a focus on contemporary photography.
The best known graduates of the class of Bernd Becher at the Kunstakademie Dusseldorf stand for the trend-setting position of the gallery programme.
Artists with international reputation, such as Jörg Sasse , Axel Hütte , Laurenz Berges , Lynne Cohen , Elina Brotherus , and Sanna Kannisto are representing divergent positions within that medium.
Since 2005, there's a second branch of the gallery at Zimmerstrasse in Berlin .
