The Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen is unique in Germany: It houses the largest collection of air navigation. It also deals with the only German house of combining technology and art. In July 1996 it was in the port station (re-) opened. Since then, more than 3.5 million visitors to the collections and exhibitions have seen. The Zeppelin Museum of 4,000 m2 of exhibition and museum space.

The design of the museum institution in charge of the Stuttgart Prof. HG Merz, who later became especially with the redesign of the Old National Gallery in Berlin a larger audience. The responsibility for the conversion of the listed station port into a modern museum building was in the hands of the Friedrichshafen offices Jauss + Gaupp.
