n his paintings, drawings, collages, large-scale installations and films Andreas Hofer established a complex picture and voice world, that sometimes with surreal and mythical characters is populated. In expressive Malgestus, applied with the fingers with felt-tip pen or painted with cryptic text elements and newspaper clippings which appear in his work again and again heroes of pop culture, film and art history at the Hofer in an image with the monstrous rhetoric against players from comics, painting and art history combines mythologies. In the resulting relations seem fictional lines of conflict between individualism and social utopias as well as existing mechanisms violence. So he turned to the example in the painting "Per Tenebras ad Astra" (2004) The Last Supper according to da Vinci's masterpiece into a satanic zombie Fair, created for the 2006 sculpture "Abstraction Phantom" he in the famous stone heads Presidents of Mount Rushmore in portraits by shady American Filmdiven from the 1930s and 1940s replaced.
