Christian Boltanski - Profile |
| Christian Boltanski was born in 1944 in Paris, is one of the most important representatives of the so-called evidence. This involves collecting and presenting real or fictitious artifacts, the artist is also in a real or fictional context, but always subjective experience, the review provides. Boltanski in 1970 showed his first work "Vitrine de référence '. Because the display case or box of the object carrier of the objects are, they give the work an anthropological level: the objects are to modern relics. This effect is also the basis of Boltanski's later works, but works of the artists stand out more photographs, he presents installations. The central theme is the Holocaust, it is a reminder of the quarry. Boltanski shows faded portraits on photographs, not even the horrors, not the death in itself, but as a symbol of memory function. This creates an art of memory, an art after the horrors of the death and thus forget the counter. It is therefore Boltanski always remembering and never to show it is about the moment in which it is aware that something has passed and it remains. That is the goal of Boltanski's art. Christian Boltanski lives and works in Malakoff, near Paris. © ArtLogistics |
