| Darren Almond (born 1971) belongs to the internationally best-known artists of his generation. Last year he was one of the finalists for the Turner Prize in London. Almond has emerged primarily because of the film and video works, installations, and by the unique series of Capes Moon, landscape photographs, with the full moon with long exposure times were. The Museum Folkwang shows for the first time all Moon Capes - more than 90 large format photos - as well as film work, partly for the exhibition or never before been shown. The artist was in 2005 for the Turner Prize and was nominated in individual exhibitions: shown in the following institutions: Museum Folkwang, Essen (2006), K21 - Art Collection North Rhine-Westphalia, Dusseldorf (2005); Lentos Kunstmuseum, Linz (2004), Tate Britain, London (2001), De Appel Foundation - Center for Contemporary Art, Amsterdam (2001), Kunsthalle Zurich (2001).
