| Kutlug Ataman deals primarily with phenomena that exist between reality and fiction are based. The video installation "The 4 Seasons of Veronica Read" ( "The 4 Seasons of Veronica Read"), for example, leads directly into the center of the botanical work of an extraordinary woman in a London suburb. In her tiny apartment Veronica Read cultivated with the utmost devotion one particular species: the Knights star (Hippeastrum lat.) - a funnel with Amaryllisgewächs, nodding flowers. Four-hour films each represent the different stages of development of the Knights star, of the bulb to mature plant. Minute, the artist is even the tiniest detail in this cosmos, which governs the one plant lover, but also reversed all their thoughts and actions dominate. Ataman sensitive portrait consists of four screens, which are connected so that they form a small square and walk area. On these screens, all films shown in sync, so that the inside of the area nearly impossible, the parallel processes of plant breeding to separate and individually perceive. The plant was first XI at the documenta in Kassel shown.
