| (Profile only availible in german - translated by machine) In the late 1990s began Peter Zimmermann (born 1956) use the computer as a painterly means. He scanned the invitation cards or photographs one of his works, digitally altered them and transferred the newly acquired image by means of cast epoxy resin layers on canvas. The results are colorful, large-format abstract paintings, their surfaces gleam seductively. As shown in previous images, the cover of guidebooks, atlases, art catalogs or Wrterbüchern, is less about substantive messages, and more about the investigation of substance and visual properties of the gorgeous candy-colored Bildflchen, its blurs and their references to the abstract color field painting . In the exhibition, Peter Zimmermann epoxy-images in a broader context of new sculptures and made some key early works.
