Roni Horn - Profile

Roni Horn works primarily with sculpture, drawing and photography, without a specific medium to be more important. Your graphic oeuvre has been repeatedly major solo exhibitions dedicated to the Pompidou Center in Paris (2003 - 04), the Museum of Contemporary Art Basel (1995) and in the Kunstmuseum Winterthur (1993). These large drawings with words written in pencil and fragments are generated by direct application of pigment on paper and a subsequent process of meticulous cutting and assembling. The pigment powder is mixed with a little turpentine on paper and finally through contracts with paint brush fixed. Then the paper into strips and cut various geometric shapes, and then on a large paper, which serves as a basis, re-assembled to be. In the composition by cutting, gluing and assembly of individual fragments, similar to an assemblage, are the concerns of a sculptor, which deals with space and the relationship of individual elements of interest.
