What`s on in Cologne with pictures or without pictures
The impressive collection of Carl Vogel (1923 – 2006) reflects his passion for contemporary and modern art. In particular, it illustrates his preference for the drawing media and graphic prints - such art categories that show on the one hand the intimate character and existence of the artistic draft, and on the other hand serve as reference for the idea of a work of art being an easily obtained object for anyone interested in art. Vogel's voluminous collection also grew because of his professional background connecting him with many artists: he was a member of the board at Hamburg Griffelkunst, and published catalogues on numerous artists' graphic works. He taught as professor in Hamburg's Hochschule der bildenden Künste, where he also served as President. Outstanding objects from this important collection will be auctioned at the beginning of June at Lempertz and Venator & Hanstein.
